Houston is a hotbed of day spas, skin specialists, and med spas where signature and state-of-the-art treatments are part of the everyday routine. Offering everything from salt room therapy, IV drips, massage, and infusion facials, skin enthusiasts and relaxation junkies now have three more spas to add to their rotation.

With top-notch amenities and cutting-edge treatments, discover why these three Houston-area spas entice guests to savor every moment of their self-care getaway.

    Escape Spa

Cypress is now home to a brand-new 5,000-square-foot spa courtesy of LeBrina Jackson, a Houston native and entrepreneur. The concept behind Escape Spa is rooted in promoting recovery and well-being, seamlessly integrating the mind, body, and spirit into each treatment.

Escape Spa offers an impressive array of services, including hydrotherapy, halotherapy, infrared sauna sessions, contrast bathing, IV infusions, as well as body treatments, massages, and facials.

The spa stands out for its commitment to a holistic approach to guest well-being and recovery, offering all-inclusive resort-style amenities, such as a co-ed wet room. Guests can luxuriate in a 12-person hot tub or unwind in a dry sauna before experiencing the unique offering of contrast bathing, where a cascade of cold water revitalizes the senses. Clients also have the option to enhance their spa experience by relaxing and detoxifying in the HaloIR salt-sauna suite.

Escape Spa specializes in hydrotherapy and features a dedicated Vichy shower room with a multi-jet water massage. The state-of-the-art Vichy shower heads dissolve tension and stress throughout the body. Additionally, the spa offers targeted vitamin B12 infusions and detox IV drips administered by registered nurses. Several signature treatments can be enhanced with a 30-minute Normatec boot compression therapy session.

    SkinPharm

SkinPharm, the cutting-edge skincare brand and a prominent player in aesthetic skin care, recently opened its first Houston outpost. The opening marks the sixth clinic nationwide and the second in Texas. Other locations include Nashville, Franklin, Charlotte, Dallas, and Atlanta.

Founded by Maegan Griffin in 2017, Skin Pharm provides a clinic environment and product lines that she, as a patient, couldn't find but would love. The brand's foundation lies in unparalleled expertise, extensive practice, and genuine passion, setting it apart in the beauty industry.

Recently, SkinPharm received a significant $15 million investment from Prelude Growth Partners, which will aid in expanding clinics and developing new products.

SkinPharm has several signature treatments, including the Gold Infusion, which uses a gentle stamping method to deliver antioxidants, hydrating ingredients, and even Botox to target scars, dark spots, fine lines, and wrinkles.

Known for its consistent offerings and excellent customer service, Woodhouse Spa recently opened its newest outpost inside the Galleria. No need to shop 'til you drop because Woodhouse Spa has everything needed for a relaxing and rejuvenating pick-me-up.

The Galleria location is also the only spa in the city of Houston to offer its clients a salt room and state-of-the-art infrared sauna. Salt Room Therapy sessions are available for as little as 15 minutes for those on the go or fas long as one hour. According to the Woodhouse website, they will help improve "respiratory health, skin health and offer peace of mind."

Woodhouse Spa Houston Galleria offers a full-service wellness menu. The spa's unique "mood care" experiences help cultivate a refreshed and renewed feeling that lasts far beyond treatments. Their signature treatments include massage, facials, body treatments, and rituals like the Meditative Mood Soak.

"We are excited to provide our beloved Houston community with a luxury environment where guests can come to renew and reset, especially business professionals seeking a moment of respite from work," said Evelyn Baldwin, Woodhouse Spa Houston Galleria owner in a statement.

The Galleria location also features a Quiet Room with light snacks and beverages for guests to enjoy and relax before, after, or in between treatments, as well as in-room soaking tubs and steam showers.

Houston's premier boys clothing boutique opens new home in Rice Village

Boys are welcome to read the books on the shelves.

Houston’s premier boys-only boutique now has a permanent home in Rice Village. ParkerJoe, which offers clothing, accessories, and lifestyle brands that takes lads from wee tykes to pre-adolescent (in sizes newborn to 16), originally opened last year in a temporary spot in the River Oaks Shopping Center.

Now open at 5515 Kelvin Dr., Suite 95, the store unfolds across 1,900 square feet, all of it stocked with the retailer’s carefully curated inventory that embraces all kinds of boys and all types of occasions. Families will find looks that range from formal and preppy to sporty and casual, with brands such as Bailey Boys, Classic Prep, Saltwater Boys, and Appaman as well as local brands like Sunnies, which specializes in polarized sunglasses for children, and onesies from Houston children’s apparel purveyor Oink Moo.

“We wanted to create a place where boys are seen and heard,” said Lisa Hostler, who owns the store with her daughter Chelsea. “Their needs and their wants are represented at ParkerJoe.”

Hostler is excited to be in the Rice Village spot, an affluent area known for its walkability and attractiveness for families, which make it an ideal location for a niche retailer like ParkerJoe.

“It’s a younger population and a strong retail mix,” she said. “We couldn’t be happier here in a center that has welcomed us so warmly and made us feel at home.”

The store itself is designed to help boys enjoy the sometimes awkward process of shopping for new clothes. Towards that end, they are welcome to touch and play with toys on the shelves, which are stocked with books, games, and stuffed animals.

An official grand opening is planned for September, but prior to that customers can expect a summer of events including trunk shows, a fashion show, and an influencer brunch.

Even as Lisa and Chelsea are excited to be in Rice Village, they are setting their sights on continued expansion. They currently have a temporary outpost in Memorial City Mall, and are looking for retail locations in other Houston neighborhoods, with a desire to open across Texas.

ParkerJoe in Rice Village is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.
