from laguna, with love
Sunny SoCal jewelry brand brings Laguna Beach vibes to Rice Village
Houston continues to see swarms of Californians moving here — to the delight or chagrin of locals. But one transplant that has the city glowing is the Southern California-based jewelerGorjana, which is set to open its third Houston store in Rice Village.
Following popular openings in Heights Mercantile and Montrose Collective, Gorjana will open in the heart of University Place (2552 University Blvd.) on Thursday, February 1. Shoppers can expect a wide range of pieces ranging from everyday to fine necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and more from the fast-growing brand.
“From the opening of our first Texas store in 2021 to our most recent opening in the Heights Mercantile district, we have fallen in love with the extraordinary state of Texas and the Houston community,” said Gorjana Reidel, Gorjana's co-founder, in a statement. “One of the city’s most beloved shopping districts, we couldn’t be more excited to join the fashion-forward Rice Village community as we bring our SoCal designs to our third Houston location.”

Gorjana's Rice Village locale will encompass nearly 1,400 square feet and will hark to coastal bungalow inspired by co-founders Gorjana Reidel and Jason Griffin Reidel’s Southern California roots. More specifically, that means light wood finishes, a crystal quartz chandelier, blush antique awnings, and a hand-dipped Lauren Williams tapestry that nods to SoCal's dreamy and iconic Laguna Beach coastline — where the brand originated.
Pushing a customized experience, Gorjana's in-store stylists assist shoppers in curating layered looks that reflect their unique personal style. Each location also offers complimentary engraving for online orders, adding a personal touch to every purchase.

Texas — and the nation — has completely fallen for the Gorjana's breezy, laid-back SoCal vibe. The brand boasts nine outposts in Texas, and more than 60 stores across the country in 2023 — an impressive marker of its rapid expansion — with Rice Village as its newest.
“We are confident that Gorjana is a jewel addition to the Rice Village community and to our established retail blend of offerings to Houston,” Aj Jennings, senior general manager at Rice Village, noted in an opening announcement. “The addition of the SoCal brand will surely satisfy those seeking an unforgettable piece of fine jewelry to match their memorable customer service.”

The SoCal brand hasn't just pushed its glittering wares across the country. Since 2004, Gorjana has worked with nonprofit organizations that support a range of national causes, with a particular focus on women and children. Notable partners include The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Baby2Baby, Toys for Tots, Dress for Success, and more.
In keeping with that ethos, Gorjana invites local nonprofit organizations in need of financial assistance to complete a donation request form.
