Developers of the River Oaks District mixed-use complex currently under construction have promised a bevy of designer stores, but have been unusually coy about naming them — until now.
On Monday, OliverMcMillan, the California-based company developing the luxury center on Westheimer inside Loop 610, released the names of two dozen retailers and restaurants that will be part of the complex when it opens next year. The impressive list includes such notable fashion houses as Dolce & Gabbana, Akris, Roberto Cavalli, Etro, Brunello Cucinelli, Brioni and Moncler.
Luxury jeweler Chopard will open its first Houston store as will upscale footwear designers Giuseppe Zanotti, for women, and John Lobb, for men.
Intermix, the women's fashion chain that skews younger than many of the announced stores, Anne Fontaine, Bonobos, Canali, De Boulle Diamond & Jewelry, diptyque, Kiton, and L'Occitane are among the other fashion names headed to the complex, joining previously announced tennants Dior, Hermès, Tom Ford and Cartier.
Among the restaurants announced for the center are Le Colonial, an upscale French-Vietnamese restaurant with locations in New York, Chicago and San Francisco; Toulouse Cafe and Bar, featuring Belgian cuisine; and an Italian restaurant named Taverna.
As previously reported, Equinox gym, an IPic Entertainment cinema and American Food and Beverage and 13 Pies will be part of the mix.
One prominent name not on the list: Diane von Furstenberg, despite reports in 2013 that she had inked a deal to come to the Houston center.
