Where to shop right now: 10 must-hit stores in November
It’s as though retailers know we are itching for new stores and items to shop for, so thankfully there’s new spots to shop, just in time for the holidays.
You can always stuff a stocking with a gift card, but for a more thoughtful gift that will still dazzle in July, head to Blueprint Modern’s Pop Up Shop in Rice Village. Owner Katie Dalrymple is bringing her collection of gifts, jewelry, housewares, plus the art of Tara Conley to the holiday shop on Morningside through Dec. 31. Instead of camping out at Best Buy, why not support local business, starting Friday?
Louis Vuitton has reopened its doors in The Galleria, welcoming luxury shoppers to a warm, luxurious space that’s well-lit and inviting. The store carries leathergoods, ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories, and watch collections for both men and women, and just happens to offer the largest selection of LV in Texas.
Longtime Houston menswear boutique Velleriano is open in The Galleria near Gucci. Look for suiting options by powerhouse labels such as Canali, Pal Zileri, Brioni, Etro and Stefano Ricci, plus all the little details like ties, cufflinks and belts that add those dapper finishing touches. And just as you would expect, Velleriano has on-site tailors.
Add another exclusive shopping option in The Woodlands. The first Pottery Barn Teen in Texas is open at The Woodlands Mall and features the PBteen Design Lab, an electronic design experience where parents, teens and design specialists can create a space and see it come to life on a television screen overhead.
Market Street is getting an infusion of pink with the arrival of luxury handbag and shoe designer Elaine Turner. The new space in The Woodlands is her fifth store and opens Nov. 29. Look for a new clutch cubby, showcasing her clutches, including the always popular Bella bag and signature shoe salon.
Calypso St. Barth, just a few steps away from the Elaine Turner boutique, immediately whisks you away to some island or mountain vacation with its selection of clothing, accessories fragrances and even home goods with a getaway feel.
We Houstonians know a thing or two about accessorizing and there’s more than a zillion ways to accessorize at the newest Charming Charlie in CityCentre. The store has a new look, but the same wealth of jewelry, clothing, shoes and gifts as before.
There’s hardly a woman I know who doesn’t own at least one pair of Kendra Scott earrings. They are colorful, flattering and affordable and now with the opening of her store in Rice Village, women can create just what they want at Scott’s Color Bar. Scott’s new space also stocks necklaces, bracelets and other jewelry.
I drove by Brittany & Co. on Montrose and can’t wait to go in and really explore, because the new store is all about jewelry, but this concept allows you to browse borrow or buy what you like. Perfect timing and great idea as the holiday party season is here.
Have you been by Coquette Boutique lately? The boutique has amped up its selection (and event schedule) plus added a Modmade Goods pop-up shop featuring hand-crafted goods made in the U.S.A. It's definitely worth going by and checking out.
