With temperatures on the rise, who doesn't want to throw their hair in a ponytail? Pulling your hair up is key to staying cool and getting your hair off your face and neck. Hairstylist Mary Cheng at The Upper Hand Salon at Hyde Park shares her favorite ponytail styles.
Twisted:
Take a three-inch section of hair from above one ear and set it aside. Put the rest of the hair in a low ponytail. Next, take the hair that is loose near your ear and start twisting it down away from your face. Twist all the way to the ponytail and continue twisting as you wrap the hair around it. Last, secure your fresh style with bobby pins.
Double:
The double ponytail is great for women with fine or shorter hair because it makes your mane look fuller. First, pull your hair half-back, from behind your ears up to the crown of your head, and secure it with a hair band. Second, pull the remaining loose hair up in a ponytail direction under the first ponytail. Take a piece of hair from the bottom ponytail, twist it and wrap it around both ponytails before securing it with bobby pins.
