Feeling groovy: Trendy British clothing chain to open a big new Galleria store
Topshop, the groovy British retailer that offers a wide array of trendy apparel, shoes and accessories, has plans for a big store in The Galleria. Officials for the chain announced a two-level, 16,500-square foot store featuring both Topshop clothing for women and Topman clothing for men will open in the Houston mall in spring 2015.
In its quest to conquer America, Topshop also plans to open a large flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York, as well as new stores in San Diego, Atlanta, and outside Washington, D.C. It currently operates stores in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles as well as Topshop departments in 42 Nordstrom stores, including the Galleria location.
Topshop officials said they will continue to develop the partnership with Nordstrom, with plans to expand to 52 Topshop departments and 55 Topman departments this spring.
The brand competes with H&M and Zara in offering "fast casual" fashions at reasonable prices aimed at young adults.
