Brooke Burke cancer surgery aftereffects: "Feels like I got hit by a car"
Whether she's wearing a bikini or a ball gown, Brooke Burke-Charvet has always appeared the picture of health. But now she's emerged as a symbol of the cancer fight — with the 41-year-old having just underwent surgery for thyroid cancer.
"I'm resting, recovering. Surgery went well. Dr Adashek is a genius. Thx Dr! Feels like I got hit (by) a car :(" Burke-Charvet tweeted Thursday morning.
On Nov. 8, the Dancing with the Stars hostess first revealed in a video that she'd been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
Burke-Charvet has continued to keep her fans informed and involved throughout her treatment process, via Facebook, Twitter and her blog on ModernMom.com, where she discusses the preparation she's making before going under the knife to remove a nodule.
