Love And Other Drugs
Is playing Lois Lane a much bigger sellout than getting nude for Anne Hathaway?
Anne Hathaway received rave reviews for her role in Love and Other Drugs, which hit theaters Wednesday. Critics call it her “career-best performance” and cite her character as “lushly intelligent, painfully self-aware heartbreaker of a girl.
Still not convinced the film is a must-see?
Hathaway's also naked. A lot. It takes some gall to go nude, and few pull it off with the class of Hathaway.
Now rumors circulate that the actress may star as Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman movie. While the girl has to make a living and everyone can get a little money-hungry, couldn’t she have at least tried to snag a few more serious roles?
She proved she had talent when she played a neglected wife in Brokeback Mountain and a drug addict in Rachel Getting Married (films which almost made up for her involvement in the atrocious Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement). But now she’s back to blockbusters?
Her interest in Superman maybe stems from a desire to break away from the romantic comedy role she’s so often cast for. (Valentine's Day and Bride Wars come to mind.)
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Hathaway talked about the appeal of action movies.
“I want to fly a spaceship,” Hathaway said. “And I want to shoot a laser into some intergalactic goop."
