Hot mess power: Miley Cyrus roars toward Houston, flexing marketing might
Miley Cyrus fans, you're in luck. The 20-year-old, newly-tattooed pop star is bringing her Bangerz Tour to Houston's Toyota Center on March 16 of next year.
Kicking off on Valentine's Day, a two-month tour will take Cyrus to 38 cities. Tickets for the Houston stop will be available to the general public starting on Nov. 16, but if you're a die-hard Miley fan, you can get your tickets early by signing up for a Facebook RSVP.
Cyrus hasn't toured the United States since her 2009 Wonder World Tour. Her most recent tour was the 2011 Gypsy Heart Tour, but it did not bring the star to American cities and instead focused on Australia and South America.
The upcoming Bangerz Tour was revealed during Cyrus' surprise appearance on Saturday Night Liveon Oct. 26, and the tour dates were released today. The announcement came on the heels of her well-received SNL appearance on Oct. 5 — part of several headline-making appearances supporting the release of her latest album, Bangerz. And Miley's PR blitz seems to have worked.
The album debuted at No. 1 on both the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and the Digital Album Charts with more than 270,000 albums sold, and the album's two singles, “Wrecking Ball” and “We Can’t Stop”, have already sold 4.3 million copies in the U.S. alone.
There's no word on whether there will be twerking in the Houston tour stop.
