While the boss looks on
Chelsea Handler is no longer an Animal lover, turns to MTV and Kanye West foranother rebound
Late-night talk show host, comedienne, best-selling author and E! network veteran Chelsea Handler (who has been working for her ex, Comcast CEO Ted Harbert, since their January breakup in what has to be the most awkward office situation ever) has apparently dumped her rebound.
Handler had been dating Animal Planet's Dave Salmoni, a frequent guest on her show (if you're a regular viewer, you know — we all coulda called that one) for three months. In her opening monologue last night, however, Handler conveyed through obvious innuendo that the relationship had been "terminated."
"Up until a couple weeks ago, I was working very intimately with the Animal Planet, but unfortunately, that contract was terminated," Handler said. "However, I enjoyed being in bed with them and may hook up for an occasional project."
It leaves us to wonder: is there room for a reconciliation with Ted? They did date seriously for four years, and he's featured prominently in her latest book. We'll likely soon find out — Handler's known for making her personal life fodder for comedy, so we wonder what she'll get up to as host of MTV's Video Music Awards on Sept 12.
Handler says that no singing and dancing will be involved on her part, but that she'd love to bring those crazy kids Taylor Swift and Kanye West back together.
