Marijuana masters of the universe
Who says potheads can't be productive! Kottonmouth Kings redefine up in smoke
The Kottonmouth Kings like pot. Lots of pot.
They like to smoke it, talk about it, sing about it and encourage others to give it a try.
What's amazing is that marijuana rates right under Xbox and American Idol, as one of the time suckers that keep everyday people from achieving their goals because they can't de-Velcro their ass from the couch. Yet this crew of California THC-happy rock-rappers haven't stopped moving in more than 15 years.
They've released 10 studio albums since 1998 as well a never-ending supply of compilations, remix albums, concert albums and between-release EPs.
Not surprisingly, most of these releases all have names that deal with smoking weed or being stoned: Hidden Stash, Fire It Up,Nickel Bag, etc.
The Kottonmouth Kings' latest disc, Long Live The Kings, is yet another homage to their preferred botany interests. Songs include "Reefer Madness," "Let the Indo Blow," and "Great When You're High."
With this release, the Kottonmouth Kings have now surpassed all the politicians and medical marijuana advocates in California in ability to filibuster about marijuana.
If anything, the Kottonmouth Kings show at Warehouse Live on Sunday just might be enough to get some hopelessly stoned kids off the couch for a night.
Kottonmouth Kings, 7 p.m. Sunday at Warehouse Live
