Summer Fun
The summer vibes are strong at CityCentre these next few months
This summer, CityCentre is booming with live events, special offerings, and even fireworks. Attend some concerts, try a new restaurant, and celebrate the 4th of July at this awesome Houston destination.
Be entertained
Sing and dance with your toddler at Parachute Play Time with Gymboree Play & Music (third Friday of every month, 10 am-12 pm), presented by Texas Children's Hospital West Campus, or spend an evening with Moonlight Movies on the second Wednesday of each month (film begins at 9 pm). Upcoming flicks include The Sandlot (July), and La La Land (August). Celebrate America's independence with a bang at the Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular, which starts at 7 pm on July 4 with a live concert featuring Texas Unlimited Band and then a 15-minute fireworks show at 9:30 pm. The event is free to attend, and parking will be $10 beginning at 4 pm.
Groove to the music
For a date night or some family fun, check out Live Music in the Plaza (Fridays and Saturdays from 7-10 pm), where you can hear everything from smooth jazz to classic rock, Caribbean steel drums to country. There's also Live After 5 in the Courtyard, near Fellini Gelato & Caffe, every Thursday from 5-8 pm and Rock the Plaza on the last Saturday of the month (7-10 pm), where you can relax and listen to live music on the green.
Help someone
On July 12th, do a good deed and donate blood to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, which will be onsite from 9 am-1:30 pm.
For the kids
The kids are out of school and full of energy. Let the rugrats run wild and spend some of that energy swimming, rock climbing, and playing games at Life Time Athletic's Activity Center. Or bring them to Summer Kids Bowl at Bowl & Barrel, Sundays through Wednesdays for only $10. Let your kid get crafty and messy at Paper Source’s crafting camp or escape the summer heat at Studio Movie Grill with a $5 classic film or $1 Children’s Summer Series screening.
For the parents
Have some much-needed "me time" with a free fitness class at Lululemon every Saturday at 8:30 am.
Eat all the food
Refreshing summer menus are in full swing. Impress Dad with a dinner reservation at one of these restaurants for Father's Day. Try the hot-off-the-grill chicken, lamb, fish, or beef dishes at Zayed's Mediterranean Grill or a dry-aged steak at The Capital Grille. Wine and dine your old man with The General Public's crispy quail and hot cakes: chickpea crusted quail, scallion pancakes, and chipotle syrup. If you love brunch, order the smoked salmon flatbread at Seasons 52 or shrimp and grits at Brio. Cool down with an authentic taste of Europe at Fellini Gelato & Caffe, an acai and pitaya smoothie bowls from Red Mango, or a crepe from Sweet Paris Creperie.
