Here's your shot at hanging out with Dierks Bentley at the Rodeo
Imagine not only getting to see Grammy-nominated Dierks Bentley perform at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, but also hang out one-on-one with the country superstar. You might expect to shell out of a fortune for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but Homemade Hope is making it a possibility for only $10.
The Houston nonprofit is raffling off two tickets to the March 24 concert, plus a meet-up with Bentley, as a fundraiser and to help raise awareness for its admirable mission. If the name Homemade Hope sounds familiar, that's because the group was crowned the 2017 CultureMap Charity Challenge champion, having earned nearly half of all the readers' votes last December.
Founded in 2013 by Blair Bentley — who happens to be Dierks Bentley's niece — Homemade Hope provides hands-on cooking classes to homeless and transitional living shelters, allowing children to experience the joy of family meals, the nurturing power of creating healthy dishes, and the stability of developing traditions centered around food. It enriches young lives with the most important ingredient: hope.
The skills these kids learn in the kitchen are also valuable in their daily lives, educating them about not only nutrition but empowering through connection. Homemade Hope also works to support the children's academic endeavors by providing tutoring, school supplies, advocacy, and life experiences outside the shelter.
So not only can you help provide a safety net to some of Houston's neediest kids, but possibly be rewarded with the incredible experience of meeting one of country music's hottest performers. There's no limit to the amount of raffle tickets you can buy, and all proceeds go directly to Homemade Hope.
The deadline to enter is 2 pm on March 17, and the winner will be drawn the next day. Good luck, but remember that every raffle ticket bought makes you a winner in these kids' eyes.
