The Piano Man's Return
Major Houston concert revealed: And the mystery star is . . .
No more need to feel pressure that the piano man, Billy Joel, hasn't been to Houston in awhile. The singer/songwriter will put fans in a New York state of mind when he comes to Toyota Center Nov. 6.
It's the first visit to the Bayou City for Joel since he appeared here with Elton John in 2009 and the first time he's appeared with a full band since 1999. That might not qualify as the longest time, but you may be right that it's been too long.
The award-winning performer has sold more than 150 million albums, won six Grammy awards, is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received Kennedy Center Honors in December 2013. As Toyota Center CEO Tad Brown noted in a hyped up press conference reveal Thursday morning, Joel has provided the "soundtrack for part of my youth."
So gather all the uptown girls and tell them to get moving out for when tickets go on sale Feb 6 at 10 a.m. via the Live Nation and Toyota Center websites. Also at all Randalls locations, whether it's the grocery store Anthony works at or not. Big shots with American Express cards get access to a presale that begins Monday at 10 a.m.
