Super Bowl's Busiest Guy
The Super Bowl's busiest guy: Snapchat king headlines multiple parties and stars in cheeky ad
Guess who's Super Bowl LI's busiest guy? That title likely goes to DJ Khaled, who is a star attraction at three big parties on consecutive nights in Houston and is appearing in a much-talked-about Super Bowl ad.
The award-winning recording artist, producer and business mogul, who shot to stardom after a series of Snapchat videos in which he detailed his "key to success" and became a social media phenomenon, will perform at the ESPN The Party on February 3, also featuring pop star Fergie, at a warehouse near downtown Houston. On the same night, he will also perform on the bill with Bruno Mars at Club Nomadic in the Arts Warehouse District, to celebrate the official launch of LIFEWTR, a new premium water brand from Pepsi.
And the next night (February), he will shoot out to Sugar Land, where he will perform a special DJ set at the Maxim party at the Smart Financial Center with hip hop artist Travis Scott.
Khaled also is the centerpiece in an ad for for TurboTax, which is making its fourth consecutive year as a Super Bowl advertiser. The ad portrays Khaled as a slovenly personal trainer in a velvet track suit who asks if he can deduct exercise equipment from his taxes while everyone engages in a strenuous workout but him.
Also known as the "Anthem King," Khaled has created dozens of chart-topping hit records featuring such superstars as Jay Z, Kanye West, Drake, Chris Brown, John Legend, and Nicki Minaj. His 2010 hit song "All I Do is Win" sold over three million singles. Other hit singles include "No New Friends" featuring Drake, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, and “I’m On One,” featuring Drake, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne.
