RodeoHouston announces diverse and legendary concert lineup: The mega actsare......
For the 81st edition of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, officials have come up with a concert lineup that has something for everyone.
Nearly every major country music star is scheduled to perform during a three-week period from Feb. 25 - March 17 at Reliant Stadium, along with a top rapper, a couple of teen sensations, a classic rock band and one of the hottest pop stars in the business.
The 25 entertainers have been amassed 24 Grammy Awards, 78 Academy of Country Music Awards, 73 Country Music Association Awards, 29 American Music Awards, 26 Billboard Music Awards and nine Teen Choice Awards.
The leading men of country music, including Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson and George Strait, are all in the strong lineup. Keith opens the rodeo on Feb. 25 and Strait closes the long string of rodeo performances on March 17 with a concert that also features Martina McBride and the Randy Rogers Band.
Also on tap: pop sensation Bruno Mars, rapper Pitbull, classic rock band Styx and hip-hop soul queen Mary Jane Blige.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at 10 a.m., at www.rodeohouston.com, all Ticketmaster locations (excluding the Reliant Park Box office until Monday, Jan. 14) and by phone at 1-800-726-1313.
Rodeo ticket prices range from $18 to $21, plus Ticketmaster convenience and handling charges (a few performances may have a limited number of tickets available from $24 to $86). A limited number of Chute Seats, located directly behind the bucking chutes, are available for $300 and $200, and include food, drinks, and the opportunity to watch the star entertainer from the Reliant Stadium floor.
For the budget-minded, Upper level Value Day Wednesday tickets go for $10.
Officials were set to release the names at 10 a.m. on Monday but accidentally posted the lineup on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Android mobile app Sunday night.
Rodeo officials had previously announced several big entertainers for this year's edition: Keith, Lovato, Mahone, Aldean and Bryan, and also had released details on Strait's concert a few months ago.
