Congratulations!
At last! Beyoncé gives birth to a baby girl — Blue Ivy Carter — in New York
Update: Longtime friend Gwyneth Paltrow confirms via Twitter that Beyoncé and Jay-Z's new baby girl is named Blue Ivy Carter, not Ivy Blue Carter. Numerous erroneous Twitter reports had inverted the name.

It's a girl!
Beyoncé Knowles gave birth to a baby girl at Lenox Hill Hospital on New York's Upper East Side Saturday. The new baby is named Ivy Blue Carter, reports the New York Daily News.
Also confirming the news: pop star Rihanna, who tweeted: "Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih," and Russell Simmons, who tweeted, "congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z."
The newspaper had earlier reported that the pregnant superstar had checked into the hospital under the name "Ingrid Jackson" on Friday. The 30-year-old Houston native and her husband, hip hop mogul Jay-Z (whose real name is Shawn Corey Carter), had reportedly rented out the entire fourth floor of the hospital for $1.3 million.
It is the same hospital where Lady Gaga was born.
Speculation has run rampant on the Internet since New Year's Eve that Knowles was about to or already had given birth, but she was photographed in New York as recently as Thursday night, where she was looking very pregnant in skinny jeans, gold heels and black blazer, with an ornate scarf covering her protruding stomach.
