Birthdate: December 4, 2013
Ethnicity: Flynn is a tri-color German shepherd and hound mix. He clearly comes from strong stock: All reports are that Flynn came to Citizens for Animal Protection having survived canine distemper as a puppy. (Overcoming distemper without treatment is rare; CAP staff call Flynn’s survival, “amazing.”) The 56-pounder does have a slight neurological twitch and some dental issues, which, again all point to his previous distemper challenges.
Flynn shows off his shepherd side in that he appears to be house trained and knows the sit command. His hound pedigree is on full display daily, as loves to walk outside and sniff everything intensely — like a classic hound. Word is Flynn will get so engrossed in the intoxicating smells that he won't want to move.
He walks fairly well on a leash and gets along great with other dogs. (It might be good to bring and kids and pets to meet him for the first time.) Friendly Flynn is hoping you'll appreciate his maturity and calm demeanor and offer him the home and family he needs and deserves — just before the holidays.
Come and get me: Flynn is available for adoption at 11 am Friday, December 20, at Citizens for Animal Protection (17555 Katy Freeway; 281-497-0591). Tell them, “Ken Hoffman sent me.”
