Bomb threat forces evacuation of Lone Star College campus in Tomball
A bomb threat has forced the evacuation of Lone Star College’s Tomball campus early Wednesday afternoon, KHOU reports.
The university posted the following notice on its website:
ALERT: LSC-Tomball-Bomb Threat - Evacuate NOW!
LSC-Tomball has received notification of a bomb threat on campus at 1:31 p.m. today. As a precautionary measure, classes and operations at Lone Star College-Tomball are canceled until further notice. All are advised to evacuate this campus. If off campus, stay away! Updates will be provided on the Lonestar.edu website."
The threat was apparently phoned into the school, KHOU reports. Officials sent out a text message alert to its students shortly after.
At 4:20 p.m., the college released an "all clear" update. Harris and Montgomery Country Sheriff's Department bomb squads swept the campus area and found no evidence of an explosive device.
Normal operating hours will resume at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25.
