Pet of the Week
Meet Harley, the cuddly Chihuahua mix, CultureMap's pet of the week
Name: Harley, as in legendary grappler Harley Race, actress Harley Quinn Smith, and everybody's dream bike, a Harley-Davidson.
Birthdate: January 22, 2019 — that's this year! I'm still a puppy.
Ethnicity: I'm a terrier and Chihuahua combo platter. I'm a little diva and still have my girlish figure, only 15 pounds. I'm a cuddler and a hugger. I like to play tug-o-war, which oddly was once an Olympic sport. I like to ride in the car. I'm playful with children and other more-behaved creatures. I'm a little scamp, for sure.
My previous owner (boo!) had to give me up because he's moving into an apartment and feels I'd be cramped in his new digs. Then why'd you get me in the first place, bozo? Anyway, I'm ready to move on with my life. As always, I will be spayed and shined up real good before you take me home. So what are you waiting for? Sheesh! You think it's fun selling myself like I'm a vacuum cleaner on the Home Shopping Network?
While I've got you here, a travel tip:
Last week I used one of the more popular websites to bundle air and hotel for an upcoming visit to London. The site asked me to select my hotel, and presented many hotels and private apartments. I picked a nice flat near the Tower Bridge, then I picked my flights.
I paid up front and thought I was done. I wasn't done. Got an email back from the manager of the apartment complex saying he was reviewing my reservation, and asked me to send personal information, including a selfie. You know what that means. I still don't know if they've approved me to stay in this apartment, or if I'll have to go back and pick another place to stay. My advice, just stick to a hotel. Hotels are like that Robert Frost poem. (A hotel) is the place where, when you have to go there, they have to take you in.
Come and get me: I'm available for adoption at 11 am Friday, October 25, at Citizens for Animal Protection (17555 Katy Freeway; 281-497-0591). Tell them, "Ken sent me."
