How hot was it Sunday? Bellaire feeder road at 610 closed as off ramp buckles inheat

Weeks of triple-digit temperatures finally took their toll on a Houston roadway. Texas Highway Department officials closed the northbound feeder road at Interstate 610 West and Bellaire Sunday because about two feet of the freeway off ramp had buckled in the heat. TXDOT workers were repairing the ramp and hoped to have it ready by the Monday morning rush hour.

A TXDOT spokesperson told Channel 13 she believes this is the only heat-related road issue they've had this summer.
