Arsonist breaks into creepiest grin ever after getting caught: Molotov cocktail attack rocks apartments
Whatever happened to letting bygones be bygones?
Darius Owens, 26, was taken into custody Thursday night after an escalating argument with a relative culminated in his launching a Molotov cocktail through an apartment window. A similar weapon was recently employed by two University of Michigan basketball fans following the team's NCAA Tournament loss.
Owens' friends and family members were gathered in the El Sol Real Apartments at 2300 Hayes Road near Westheimer when the lit projectile was hurled at around 11:30 p.m. Close to 130 firefighters arrived to put out the flames. Several apartment units were damaged, and two individuals suffered minor injuries.
Evidently not one for keeping his emotions bottled up, Owens was seen having the last laugh as he flashed a creepy grin for the camera from the back of the Houston Police Department patrol car. He faces arson charges.
