Distracted Driving
See the picture of Kemah's naked unicyclist: Keeps socks & shoes on to pedal, sheds the rest for arrest
In news that seems more appropriate for Austin than Houston, a former teacher from Clear Lake has been arrested for unicycling along a busy roadway in the nude.
Local police had apparently seen Joseph Farley practicing his unicycle skills on the Kemah bridge over the past several weeks. But on Wednesday, around 1:30 p.m., he made a very deliberate decision to leave his clothes at the foot of that bridge and cross it wearing only socks and shoes.
Authorities say that Farley was neither intoxicated nor impaired, but just "liked the way it felt."
Distracted drivers flooded the police station with calls, and police soon responded. Authorities say that Farley was neither intoxicated nor impaired, but just "liked the way it felt."
(We have to admit — the weather was quite nice on Wednesday.)
"Obviously he wasn't armed, that we could tell," Kemah police chief Greg Rikard told KPRC. Watch the rest of the story and dash camera footage here.
The nudie unicyclist has been charged with indecent exposure and is being held on a $1,500 bond.
