Mystery Attack
Rapper shot in the neck while shooting a music video on a Houston street
A Louisiana rap musician named Reginald D. Smith was shot early Saturday morning during the filming of a hip hop video in the Third Ward.
Around 2:40 a.m, two unknown men with pistols arrived at the production location on the 3400 block of Nettleton Street between Elgin and Alabama, only blocks from the University of Houston and Texas Southern University.
According to Houston police spokesperson Victor Senties, suspects shot Smith in the neck before fleeing the scene in a black four-door sedan. The musician was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition. Ben Taub would not provide any further information.
Baton Rouge-based record label Zillion Dollar Grind, which appears to represent Smith, could not be reached for comment.
The two suspected shooters remain at large. The Houston Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact its non-emergency line at 713-884-3131.
