Pet of the Week
Meet Haiti the dynamic Doberman Pinscher, CultureMap's pet of the week

Name: Haiti, as in the Caribbean nation of Haiti, on the island of Hispaniola, in the Greater Antilles. Not to be confused with the Lesser Antilles, which are like a joke compared to the Greater Antilles. The country of Haiti has 10.9 million people and its two official languages are French and Haitian Creole.
(Didn't think you'd get a geography lesson here, did you?)
Birthdate: August18, 2017. I'm fully grown and tip the scales at a considerable 66 pounds. Not to throw my weight around, but I'm in great physical shape, perfect health — good to go.
Ethnicity: I'm a Doberman Pinscher mixed up girly-girl. Here's my back story: Everything was fine at home until my buddy dog passed away. My owner wasn't in position to get another dog, so he brought me to this shelter so I can be adopted.
Don't cry for me, Argentina or Houston. My perfect new home would have a dog for me to pal around with. I'm playful and gentle with children. The staff here calls me a "real sweetheart." So what are you waiting for?
Come and get me: I'm available for adoption at 11 am Friday, March 1 at Citizens for Animal Protection (17555 Katy Freeway; 281-497-0591). Tell them, "Ken sent me."
