Affair town: Houston a hotbed of infidelity, with more marriage cheating than almost any other
AshleyMadison.com has some sordid news for Houstonians just in time for Valentine's Day: 'Tis the city to have an affair, according to recent data from the extramarital dating website whose motto reads "Life is short. Have an affair."
The Bayou City falls at No. 3 on a ranking of America's Least Faithful Cities, just behind Washington D.C. and Austin, counting more than 64,000 sign-ups in 2012 alone — "more per capital than nearly any U.S. city," according to a press release.
"Houston is the center of our own Texas Triangle."
"Houston is the center of our own Texas Triangle," said AshleyMadison.com's founder and CEO Noel Biderman, who was unsurprised to see that two Texas cities took high spots in the ranking. The Lone Star State is, according to the site, the "fastest growing adultery state in America."
"It's obvious from out data that Houston members prefer lovers from Austin, or San Antonio," he continued.
So if you catch your Valentine venturing westward on this holiday, then you might have cause for concern.
Miami takes No. 4 on the list, followed by Oklahoma City, Richmond, Boston and Philadelphia. Lincoln, Neb. and Phoenix, Ariz. round out the top 10.
