Pet of the Week
Meet Burrito, the tenacious terrier, CultureMap's pet of the week

Name: Burrito, as in the delicioso Tex-Mex dish. I prefer breakfast burritos. A little background: My name originally was Burro, but the kind folks at Citizens for Animal Protection changed it to Burrito. After watching the LSU quarterback tear up Clemson this week, I wish they had changed my name to Burrow.
Birthdate: January 13, 2019. You just missed my first birthday, so consider yourself lucky. I will be registered next year at the CAP gift shop.
Ethnicity: I’m a terrier of some sort or other. Like many pups here at the shelter, I must have left my papers in the limo that brought me here.
Here’s my deal: I seem to be a bit of an escape artist, so if you’re thinking of adopting me, please make sure your backyard is secure with a good fence. As Robert Frost said, good fences make good neighbors. They also keep me from making a break for it. I’m easy going and playful, great with kids and other dogs. I’ve never been around cats, so no mixed families, please. I’m neutered and know a few commands and I’m ready to roll. What are you waiting for? Am I the cutest little fella you’ve ever seen?
Now, my advice for the Houston Astros. Your credibility is under fire, and it’s not exactly a cheap date to see a game. So when you pick the next manager, make it a 100-percent guaranteed home run. I’ve seen the list of likely candidates. I wouldn’t know some of them if they were standing on my big toe. Here’s your guy: Craig Biggio.
Come and get me: I'm available for adoption at 11 am Friday, January 17, at Citizens for Animal Protection (17555 Katy Freeway; 281-497-0591). Tell them, "Ken sent me."
