Houston Ballet Jubilee of Dance mixes high-flying performance and intimate on-stage dinner
Houston Ballet hosted its annual Jubilee of Dance Onstage Dinner at the Wortham Theater Center to raise funds for its mission: To inspire love and appreciation for dance through artistic excellence, exhilarating performances, innovative choreography, and educational programs.
Event chairs Kristy and Christopher Bradshaw and Kelley and Stephen Lubanko welcomed more than 200 guests to the Brown Stage only 30 minutes after the curtain went down on a one-night-only performance of the Jubilee of Dance, a program of premieres and high-energy excerpts from signature works and beloved classics.
Before sitting down to an intimate dinner, complete with delicious fare by Jackson and Company and table tops elegantly decorated with candlelit evergreens and seasonal floral arrangements designed by Bergner & Johnson, patrons mixed and mingled with Houston Ballet’s artistic director Stanton Welch and several dancers from the Houston Ballet company.
Honoree Margaret Alkek Williams was celebrated for her support and dedication to Houston Ballet with a special video tribute as well as a few words from Allison Thacker, president of the board of trustees.
In total, the nearly $150,000 was raised for Houston Ballet.

Gina andDr. Devinder Bhatia, Melza and Ted Barr, Houston Ballet executive director Jim Nelson, Tony Bradfield and Kevin Black, Jo and Jim Furr, Jim Daniel, and Yana and Warren McFatter.
