Texans Score Big Off Field
Texans score big off the field at lively "Saturday Night Lights" blowout for DePelchin
The night before the Houston Texans would wallop the New York Jets at NRG Stadium, Houstonians and Texans leadership were scoring big at the Houston Methodist Training Center/Texans Practice Bubble.
A lively crowd of 450 turned out at the NRG complex to cheer on the mission of raising funds for DePelchin Children's Center and to honor Houston Texans president Jamey Rootes and wife Melissa.
With Lindley and Jason Arnoldy and Valerie and Tracy Dieterich as chairs, the night earned more than $375,000, great news for DePelchin president and CEO Jenifer Jarriel. Kathleen and James Jennings and Audrey and Brandon Cochran served as honorary chairs.
It was a night of sports-related games (think field goal attempts, laser tag) and fundraising through a wine pull and live and silent auctions. In addition to the romping, guests paused to honor Gail and Willie Richardson with the first Foster Parents of the Year Award. The couple has fostered more than 50 children since 2007. Former Houston Texan Chester Pitts and Devi Dev emceed the program.
Saturday Night Lights founders Hannah and Cal McNair, Houston Texans COO and vice chairman, and Abbi and Rod Antablin were among guests that included Joanna and Brad Marks, Sue Nan and Rod Cutsinger, Holly and Austin Alvis, Megan Cushing, Susie and Iggy Distefano, Ericka Graham, Kitty and Lex Hochner, Bianca Wilfork and Geraldina Interiano Wise and Scott Wise.
