It was a busy week for Alley Theatre patrons, who were first feted by Baccarat at that brand's 250th anniversary party and then a few days later wined and dined at the swank Alley Artists Dinner held in a magnificent River Oaks home.
Baccarat Boutique manager Bruce Padilla honored 2015 gala chairs Mady and Ken Kades at the anniversary celebration that doubled as a kick-off for next spring's Alley Ball. For the occasion, the shop in The Galleria was brimming with red roses and special pieces, which had guests swooning, brought in just for the anniversary celebration. Case in point, the stunning 3.5 square foot limited-edition chess set in midnight and clear crystal and a fabulous candelabra in both red and clear crystals, made especially for the 250th anniversary.
Laura Bellows and Jack Pendergrast were among Baccarat guests as were Elizabeth and Alan Stein, Jane and Larry Wagner, Kathy and John Orton and Helen and Jim Shaffer. Many of the ladies dressed in red in honor of the host's anniversary.
Alley managing director Dean Gladden and wife Jane made both events moving next to the Alley Artists Dinner hosted by Larry Brookshire in his beautifully restored River Oaks mansion. This gathering honored Alley Artist Society members and members of the Alley Theatre Resident Acting Company, who had just closed out Dracula the night before.
Among the Dracula cast joining the party, fresh from the very successful run were Jeffrey Bean, James Black, Elizabeth Bunch, Chris Hutchison, Melissa Pritchett and Todd Waite.
Top patrons enjoying cocktails in the house and then moving to an outdoor garden for the beautiful dinner were Sunny Lee, Kathryn and Jim Ketelsen, Sharyn and Jim Weaver, Cynthia Petrello, Jana and Scotty Arnoldy, Florence Langford, Tony Canino and Mary Margolis and Sheila and Ron Hulme.
