Mayor Throws Bday Party
Houston mayor and her partner throw an elaborate birthday party for a power player at their historic home
Strategic marketing specialistCindy Clifford is a gal that gets around, working behind the scenes to make things happen for her influential clients. Almost daily, she power lunches at La Griglia and a couple of times each year she parties like a rock star.
Her recent birthday was no exception when the welcome mat went out at the historic Westmoreland home of Mayor Annise Parker and Kathy Hubbard as 150 movers and shakers, media forces and politicos poured in for the classic Cindy celebration. For starters, there was Port of Houston chair Janiece Longoria, Metro chairman Gilbert Garcia, State Rep. Sylvester Turner and City Council members Jerry Davis and Michael Kubosh.
That was the I.J. Gosey Band that kept the crowd dancing well after the official nite-nite hour.
While Parker and Hubbard opened their door for the bash, it was Clifford and her BFF Jason Fuller who shopped around town picking up take-out fare from the birthday girl's favorite eateries including Phoenicia Specialty Foods downtown, Kim Son, French Gourmet Bakery and Paulie's.
"Great friends, lots of politicos, amazing food, perfect weather and a super band is the winning combo for a fun birthday," Clifford said. "It sure makes getting a bit older a lot less painful!"
