Community spirit: One of Houston's most charitable families receives major recognition in River Oaks
What: Houston Hospice 15th annual Laura Lee Blanton Community Spirit Award dinner.

The 411: Kelli and Eddy Blanton, son and daughter-in-law of the late, much-beloved Laura Lee Blanton, received the Houston Hospice award given in her name. Elizabeth Blanton Wareing introduced her brother and sister-in-law and helped present the Laura Lee Blanton Community Spirit Award along with dinner emcee Channel 13 news anchor Melanie Lawson. With Harriet and Joe Foster as chairs, the 250 guests help raise in excess of $275,000 for the hospice program that serves more than 2,400 families each year.
