Leaders in education reform receive "Accolades" at luncheon benefiting Children at Risk

The 411: Innovations and reform in education were on the table at the luncheon that celebrated the non-profit's quarter century of driving change to better children's lives in various arenas including education, health, nutrition and the fight against human trafficking.
Chaired by Denise and Mike Maher, Deborah and David Roylance, Dr. Joan Shook and Dr. Jeff Starke, Heather and Bob Westendarp and Janet and Bob Zincke, the luncheon hosted more than 300 guests and raised $170,000 for the cause.
Honorees, recognized for advocacy work for better education were Alief ISD Superintendent H.D. Chambers, Dr. Angelo Giardino of Texas Children's Hospital, The Meadows Foundation, Kipp Schools and YES Prep.
