Uptown Park boutique celebrates expansion with rocking fashion parade cocktail party
The stunning Elizabeth Anthony boutique in Uptown Park was packed to the rafters with high-style men and women for the official unveiling of the store's expansion and facelift. No ordinary store party, this evening featured an Escada resort fashion show in a party tent large enough to seat most in the overflow crowd of more than 200.
"I am so proud of the store and my team and my architect and the interior designer and everyone that helped pull this together," owner Julie Roberts said. "And I'm so pleased that all of these people came out to support us."
Responsible for the expansion that brings the store to just under 8,000 square feet, architectsRame and Russell Hruska and interior designer John Kidd joined Roberts in reveling in the spirited evening. Of the changes including dropping Esther Wolf from the store name, Roberts said, "The store has always been about glamour and elegance and we're not going to depart from what we've always been about."
The fashion presentation of Escada resort wear had the ladies furiously checking off outfits on their line-up cards.
Guests mingled through the new digs, oohed over the new fine jewelry lines and ran their fingers across the fine threads from new designers including Zac Posen, Alberta Ferretti and Blumarine. Moodafurka provided music from the second floor balcony while waiters from Fresh Foods circled through with trays of tempting hors d'oeuvres and libations.
Midway through the party, the action moved to an adjacent party tent where the iridescent catwalk and changing light patterns were inspired by the light works of artist James Turrell.
