Missing Mickey Rosmarin
Fashionistas take over Tootsies for high-style event celebrating young, beautiful, philanthropic
The only thing missing from Wednesday night's Fresh Faces of Fashion event at Tootsies was the smiling face of the store's founder, the late Mickey Rosmarin. Otherwise, the evening was chock full of high-style, beautiful women and support for the Buffalo Bayou Partnership.
Modern Luxury Houston magazine's ninth annual Fresh Faces evening spotlighted 10 young women, who — in the words of emcee Isabel David — are "fashion forward and philanthropic." With that pronouncement, which followed a tribute to Rosmarin, the show began.
Strolling the catwalk through the center of the high-style emporium were Lindsey Amiralai, Karen Blue, Megan Cushing, Elizabeth Douglass, Olivia Flores, Heidi Kashani, Mary Patton, Kathryn Swain, Amanda Weeks, and Audrey White. They were nominated by past honorees, by Tootsies and by magazine staff and selected via a ballot system.
The women will be featured in the September issue of the magazine, elegantly photographed by Julie Soefer, who was among those in primo seating on the front row. Keeping an eye on the proceedings from their front-row seats were Houston magazine publisher Peter Remington with Karen DeGeurin, and editor Ray Dennison.
Adding to the tony nature of the evening was sponsorship by Mercedes Benz with its cars out front and a raffle of two Mercedes watches and exceptional party fare by Swift + Co.
The party crowd included Bethany Hughes, Bill Baldwin, Lisa Gochman, Lucinda Loya, Monsour Taghdisi, Ericka Bagwell, Julia Longoria and Dr. Stephen Joseph Chen, Lindsey Brown, Michael Ciaravino, Joanna Marks, Hannah McNair, Bria Wall, Amy Haymond, Joshua Finch, and Karen Pulaski.
