It was a fashion moment seldom witnessed during H-Town's typically sluggish dog days of summer — more than 300 stylishly dressed YP femmes and Cute Young Things gathering at Tootsies in a common cause. On this evening, the draw was the 10th anniversary of Dress for Success' young professional group, Women of Wardrobe or WOW.
The energy was palpable as guests started arriving a quarter of an hour before the party's start time. In they poured, in waves of colorful summer frocks, many wearing Nicole Miller, the designer of the hour. Miller was in Houston for a Tootsies trunk show and for the fundraiser. Svelte models, displaying Miller's friendly price point fall fashions, posed on raised platforms around the party space enticing the lively crowd to shop, shop, shop.

And there was plenty of opportunity. Joining Miller in the designer spotlight were popular jewelry artist Claudia Lobaoand handbag designer Annsley Popov of Presmer. So many temptations.
DJ Rob G of 97.9 The Box spun the Top 40 sounds that kept decibel level high and the mood upbeat while Tootsies West Ave neighbor restaurants provided sustenance and libation.
Chairs Kristy Bradshaw, Lindsey Brown and Marie Louise Kinder applauded the great turnout that Dress for Success' Lauren Levicki attributed to the organization's 15 years of supporting underserved women and WOW's 10th anniversary. Since its founding WOW has raised more than $300,000 for the non-profit.
Stepping out in high style were KPRC Channel 2's Rachel McNeill, who introduced the designers, plus party host Mickey Rosmarin, Maria Vilchez, Katie Flaherty, Bethany Buchanan, Crystin Pactor, Laura Max Nelson, Diane Caplan, Marisa Cormier, Divya Brown, Claire Cormier Thielke, Hasti Taghi, Roz Pactor, Allie Fields and Houston Dress for Success founder Nancy Levicki.
Among the few gents in the crowd was make-up artist Edward Sanchez of Vanity Lounge, who had the honor of handling Nicole Miller's make-up and hair styling.
