More Than A Pretty Face
Houston's most glamorous TV anchor reveals beauty secrets on new YouTube channel
She's the most glamorous news anchor in the state, a striking redhead with just enough pout in her full lips and curves in her fit physique to register vavavoom across the HD screen. As of Thursday Dominique Sachse is taking her beauty A-game to the web with a YouTube channel, DominiqueSachseTV.
The KPRC Channel 2 news anchor announced her weekly tutorial, as she calls it, via Facebook last week. Although she has already posted an introductory video, the first big reveal of her beauty secrets and tips starts this week.
"It's August, so looking fresh all day long can be a challenge, especially if you're going from the office to dinner, and there are a few drug store remedies in there as well!"
Sachse tells CultureMap that she regularly receives questions from viewers regarding her beauty regime and favorite products and from viewers seeking wardrobe advice. "I always take the time to reply and even started doing a few style-oriented, short videos that I posted on Facebook," she says. "Based on the response I got, I thought viewers might enjoy more detailed, how-to videos."
The five- to 10-minute videos will include discussions of her favorite products as well as girlfriend-friendly instruction on application techniques. (I for one want to know how she does those perfect eyebrows!)
As Sachse explains in her introduction, she is her own stylist, make-up artist and hair dresser, pulling together that glam look for the evening news without benefit of daily beauty assists. And just as her look is all hers so is the YouTube endeavor.
"This is my project. I shoot it myself in the bathroom and just flip the viewfinder backwards to check the framing and composition," she says. "It's not studio lighting or recording gear, but it gets the job done in a down home, organic kind of way."
In case you didn't catch the location of these segments, "I shoot the videos in my bathroom, so I'll walk you through the process where it all happens."
Sachse's first segment will reveal her secrets for keeping make-up in place during Houston's grueling heat and humidity. "It's August, so looking fresh all day long can be a challenge, especially if you're going from the office to dinner, and there are a few drugstore remedies in there as well!"
