2011 World Series champion shares the love of baseball with adoring fans at fundraiser

The scoop: The private room rocked with baseball fever when six-time All Star and 2011 World Series champion Lance Berkmanheld court on behalf of SpringSpirit Baseball. Close to 100 fans and supporters of the nonprofit that supports underserved youth in the north Spring Branch area turned out to rub shoulders with the former Houston Astro.
Randy McIlvoy, sports anchor for KPRC Channel 2, served as emcee of the event during which Berkman shared stories of his life in Major Legaue Baseball, a career that began when he played for Rice University.
Guests savored a three course dinner featuring corn ravioli, the popular "Tex" entree of a filet mignon and two cheese enchiladas, and a trio of miniature desserts.
