Olympians Smokin' and Jokin'
Party with cigars, fine wines, and fab watches send NBA stars to Olympics in style
Only days before they hopped their plane for Rio, NBA greats Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant were guest stars at a lavish Olympics send-off party held in the swank Museum District home of Gina and Dr. Devinder Bhatia.
There was haute tequila; fine wine, perhaps from the Bhatias' famed wine cellar; fancy cigars; and a swell dinner provided by Jackson and Co.
In addition to the tony food and drink, the celebration included presentation of Hublot watches, valued above $10,000, to both members of the USA Men's Basketball team. Anthony was presented the special Big Bang Unico Titanium Bracelet and Durant received the Classic Fusion Titanium King Gold.
Hublot, Avión Reserva 44 tequila, and JetSmarter, a private jet company, partnered in the evening festivities.
Guests dined with the Bhatias in the beautifully out-fitted wine cellar, which can hold up to 14,000 bottles, and in the adjacent pool house on a feast that included Chicken Chasseur and grilled seabass and desserts including frozen lemon soufflé, Sacher Torte and crème brûlée.
Special guests included Haute Living magazine CEO Kamal Hotchandani, Carmelo's wife TV personality Lala Anthony, and Los Angeles Clipper's DeAndre Johnson. The latter quickly made new best friends with the Bhatias' children, Mia and Drake.
After dinner, guests gathered around the pool for cigars and late-night tequila shots.
