Lighting Up the Night
Colorful young professionals light up toga party with Day-Glo theme and neon shades
In somewhat of a throwback to the '80s love affair with fluorescent Day-Glo fashions, the Young Professionals Board of Bering Omega Community Health Services transformed its annual mid-summer toga bash into "Glotoga," inspiring an unusually colorful array of toga style.
With black lights positioned around the interiors of the Mariago Collective on Waugh Drive, those with a creative bent lit up the night with their specially-colored togas in shades of chartreuse, hot pink and purple. Glow sticks, necklaces and arm bands added punch to the colorful scene.
The costumed guests arrived in togas made from bed sheets a la Animal House, rented from costume shops and created from swaths of satin and tie-dyed fabrics.
Organizing the lively night, fueled by Dash vodka and Saint Arnold Brewery suds, were Bering Omega's Young Professional Board members Lindsey Moreno, Tim Hampson, Sam Schultz and Jeremy Fain.
Adopting the bright-night toga fashions were Wade Knight, Paul Pettie, Patrice Williams, JD Adamson, Jeff Gremillion, Victor Torres, Drew Chase, Oscar Perez, Roger Hawkes, Leslie Don Wilson and Jeremy Ronquillio.
