Santa Baby Parties in July
This 'holiday' office party, complete with Santa and Christmas tree, rocks for cops
'Twas the middle of summer, and oh how the heat, had many a Houstonian feeling quite beat,
When out in the hallway, there arose such a clatter, that folks sprang from their desks to see what was the matter.
It was Santa Claus, wisely dressed in his summer overalls, who made a mid-July visit to K9s4COPs new headquarters for a really early celebration of the season. Adding to the festive atmosphere was a towering Christmas tree dressed in K9s4COPs memorabilia.
"After everything that law enforcement has been through, especially in recent months, we thought it was a good time to show our support and spirit for the hard work they do everyday," said Roseann Rogers, K9s4COPs executive director.
The office on Westheimer at Fountain View was packed with Sheriff's deputies, Houston Police officers, K9s and supporters of the non-profit that provides police-trained K9s for law enforcement agencies across the country.
Headliner was Sergeant Chris Moore and his K9 Ziko, who have made drug seizures of more than $1.3 million this year alone. Among the other officers attending were Deputy Shawn Brown, Major Marcus Kinnard-Bing, Captain Ronnie Glaze, Chief Jim Summer, Major Kevin Scruggs, and Lieutenant Gigi Goudeau.
Among those lining up for photos with Santa were Laurie Krohn, Jack Rains, Dr. Aashish Shah, Lori Freese, Sharron Melton, Miya Shay with young son Winston by her side, Laura and Mason Boswell, and Desiree and Phil Lonsway.
