Purple Party with Prince impersonator introduces Little Black Dress Designer muses
The Houston fashion crowd partied like it's 1999 at a purple-themed party at The Dunlavy that paid tribute to the music icon Prince and kicked off the 2016 Little Black Dress Designer competition.
Nine Houston stylemakers were introduced as muses who will inspire fashion design students to create little black dresses in their honor. They include Chris Goins, Gracie Cavnar, Dominique Sachse, Rita Garcia, Lily Jang, Romy Mitchell, Joy Sewing, Diane Caplan and Molly Johnson Stone. The dresses will be revealed during at the Heart of Fashion runway show in November.
A Prince impersonator, with wavy locks and a purple waist, entertained the crowd at the kick-off party and got many up and dancing. Chef Brandi Key whipped up purple-themed vegetarian bites and many guests took the theme to heart, wearing purple wigs, dresses and suits.
In the crowd were LBDD creator Jeff Shell and party-co host Ally Shell-van Koolwijk, Heart of Fashion creator Vivian Wise and Sergio Morales, Vicki Rizzo, Mauri Oliver, Mickey Rosmarin, Chloe Dao, Debbie Festari, Michael Pearce, Ceron, Fady Armanious and Bill Baldwin, Anika Jackson, Staci Henderson and Dr. Ngoan Henderson, andBeth Muecke.
