Dressed to Thrill
Health Museum Young Professionals dress to kill for triple crown polo benefit
In a rare fashion turn, it was both the ladies and the gents who stepped out in high style for the fifth annual Triple Crown Polo Fundraiser, presented by the Young Professionals Circle of The Health Museum.
The grounds of the Houston Polo Club were awash Sunday afternoon in a sea of brightly-colored chapeaux and smart fedoras. After all, this was a fashion contest as much as a fundraiser for the museum's educational programs and exhibit development.
Ranking the eager fashionistas were judges Anna Hawley, Health Museum COO; Beth Younger, JulieBeth Handbags designer; and District Judge Vanessa D. Gilmore. Taking home top honors in the Hats Off to The Health Museum contest were were Debra Lockett in first place, Ebony Goudeau in second and Nyanza Moore in third.
Blake Hayes of Mix 96.5 served as emcee for the Hats Off competition and for the "Men of Style" contest, judged by Olu Lawson and Tunde Lawal of Southern Gents. Bronson Elliott Woods bowed in at first place, Neil Krugh in second and Alias Johnson in third.
Chairing the afternoon bash were Sharon and Errol McLaughlin Jr. (Young Professionals Circle founding members), David Cordúa and Sylia Gallegos.
They were joined by 375 guests including Rachel McNeill and Wayne Franklin, Dr. William Fleming, Heidi and Marcus Smith, Drs. Annette and Anthony Brissett, Dr. Garfield Johnson III, Dr. Jakeen Johnson, Roslyn Bazzelle and Derrick Mitchell.
