What Seven Year Itch?
TV two-steppers and lovebirds swing western at couple's River Oaks anniversary party
The seven year itch — fact or fiction? For this Houston couple it's total fiction, which is one reason why philanthropists/lovebirds Michelle and Frank Hevrdejs pulled out the stops for a western-themed bash at River Oaks Country Club celebrating their seventh anniversary.
The duo wed at their Brenham area ranch in May of 2008 and have been happily two-steppin' through life ever since. Though Michelle had a difficult battle with breast cancer, she approaches her fifth anniversary of being cancer free this week. So there was plenty of cause for celebration.
The couple invited friends in from across the country, including pals from Pebble Beach, where the duo has a second home. The Hevrdejses wined and dined that group of 18 with a sophisticated dinner in the bar at Tony's on Friday night before Saturday night's country bash.
With Nancy Ames and Danny Ward orchestrating the party, Hevrdejs hired Lonestar, with 10 country hits reaching the top of the charts, to keep the dance floor jumping. A warm-up band preceded the country stars. Among those early on their feet were KHOU Channel 11 meteorologist Chita Johnson with Lane Craft, KTRK Channel 13 traffic reporter Katherine Whaley with Chris Wadley and Fox 26's Katie McCall with David Noll.
The invitation called for western chic attire and none did it better than Lynn Wyatt in black suede western wear draped in an Indian chief's ransom of silver and turquoise.
Wishing the couple well were guests including Kathy and Marty Goossen, Carrin Patman and Jim Derrick, Phyllis Childress, Tony Abyad, Nancy and Ted Reynolds, Martha Adger and James Madget, Carolyn and Dr. Michael Mann, Gary Tinterow and Christoper Gardner, Patsy and Greg Fourticq, and Chuck Jenness and Megan Sandler.
