Houston hero honored at mental health luncheon in River Oaks as TV news anchor and doctors look on

The 411: Civic leader extraordinaire Nancy Gordon was honored as a Houston hero not only for her long terms as trustee for Texas Children's Hospital and for TIRR Foundation but also for her on-going advocacy for children's health. Former City Councilwoman Pam Holm chaired the luncheon committee comprised of Polly Bowden, Flo McGee and Stephanie Smith. Guest speaker was Dr. Peter Jensen, president and CEO of the REACH Institute (Resource for Advancing Children’s Health) and a leading expert on ADHD.
Proceeds from the luncheon will support DePelchin's mental health, foster care, adoption and parent education programs. KTRK Channel 13 news anchor Melanie Lawson served as emcee.
Who: DePelchin medical director Dr. Oscar Bukstein, Texas Children's CEO Mark Wallace, Emily and Holcombe Crosswell, Connelly McGreevy, Sue Nan and Rod Cutsinger, Janet Cockrell, Judy Tate, Nicole Katz, Kathleen Jennings and Audrey Cochran. Also applauding the accomplishments of Nancy Gordon were her husband, Jim Gordon, and their three grown sons — Matt, Ryan and Scott.
