The 411: When one of the top CEO golfers in North America is on the tee box and he just happens to be the owner of the Houston Astros and his daughter and son are chairing, this becomes one of the more interesting charity golf tournaments of the spring season. And it was played at a public golf course. Thank you Jim Crane, owner of the Floridian National Golf Club, and Krystal Crane Thompson and Jared Crane, who chaired the Children's Museum 19th annual golf tourney.
The trio drew not only a colorful lineup of golfers but it also garnered $115,000 for the nation's top-ranked children's museum, that according to Parents Magazine. Before hitting the links in a Florida-style scramble, golfers lunched at Beck's Prime. Keeping the fellas' spirits high, so to speak, were on-course margaritas, buffalo wings and Arnold Palmers.
Who: Jeff Van Gundy, Enos Cabell, Dan Castaneda, Garrett Thompson, Bill Toomey, Mallory and Charlie Robins, Randy Allen, Ray Anderson, Jamie Frederick, Marc Melcher and Bill Hill.
