Matt Schaub's going away party is a gift to Houston charity that brings out major sports celebs
What: The GR8 Hope Foundation "Hope Can Heal" gala.
Where: Royal Sonesta Hotel.
The 411: GR8 founders Laurie and Matt Schaub along with guest performer Clay Walker entertained supporters at both the gala and golf tournament which raised funds to aid children with medical needs. Currently, the foundation is raising funds for expansion of the Emergency Care Center at Texas Children’s Hospital — West Campus. Alicia Smith and Deborah Duncan chaired the gala that saw dinner take place in the hotel's larger ballroom and the post-dinner concert take place in the Discovery Ballroom. The latter was set up as a club with performance stage and lounge type seating complete with sofas and cocktail tables. Antoinette Latham of Brand Idea Group produced the event.
It was something of a going away party for the Schaubs as they head to the West Coast where Matt will play quarterback for the Oakland Raiders.

A ton of sports celebs turned out for the tournament at the Houstonian Golf Club including Roger Clemens, Owen Daniels, Chris Myers, Brian Cushing, Kevin Walter and Case Keenum.
