High-powered leaders celebrate Center for Houston's Future and honoree John Nau
What: The Center for Houston's Future's 2014 Future Leadership luncheon.

The 411: Philanthropists, community leaders, social heavyweights and business leaders turned out 700 strong for the annual luncheon that honored Silver Eagle Distributors honcho John Nau III, noted philanthropist, historian and civic leader. Mayor Annise Parker was on hand to present the Eugene H. Vaughan Civic Leadership Award to Nau and to declare it John Nau IIIDay in Houston. The program included remarks by Beth Robertson on the early development of the city's arts and cultural scene and Center for Houston's Future president and CEO Catherine Mosbacher's presentation on the Center's 2014 Community Indicator on Arts and Cultural Heritage. The luncheon was chaired by Susan and Michael Jhin.
Who: The high-octane gathering included Chevron's Joni Baird, Center for Houston's Future Fellow Gwen Goffe, former Lt. Gov. Bill Hobby, Paul Hobby, Gracie Cavnar, Truett Latimer, Merrill and Joe Hafner,Peaches and Shrub Kempner, Anne and Dr. John Mendelsohn and Center board chair Rick Jaramillo and founding chair Gene Vaughan.
