Here are the top 10 things to do in Houston this weekend
It's the first weekend of March and the city is in full swing with lots of activities, including the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo trail rides, parade and fun run. Wine dinners, concerts featuring popular performers, and a beer brunch are among the other fun choices.

Thursday, March 2
The French Cultural Festival kicks off with a curated exhibition showcasing emerging and established French artists. This is the first time this weekend-long event will be presented in Houston and it starts with a VIP reception Thursday night. The weekend event celebrates Houston urban artist Mr. D (Sebastien Boileau), and includes a taste of French luxury with a special “Nuit du Champagne,” a workshop with seven Master pastry chefs from France, art talks, and guided tours.
The American folk rock band performs at the Smart Financial Center as part of their first-ever North American arena tour in support of their 2016 album, Cleopatra. They'll be joined by opening acts Kaleo and Susto.
Prepare to be "Teese'd" as Dita Von Teese brings her burlesque show, The Art of the Teese, to the House of Blues. Fans of Von Teese are in for a treat as she performs a new version of her signature “Martini Glass” routine which features an art-deco style cocktail glass, crystallized from top to bottom with over 250,000 Swarovski crystals.
Duchman Family Winery, the Central Texas Hill Country winery that produces 100 percent Texas wines, presents a four-course wine dinner with Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. Duchman has mastered the use of grapes suited for the Texas climate that will surely pair well with the dry-aged steaks that Pappas Bros. has become known for.

Magician Cody Prophet delivers an evening of mind-altering genius as extraordinary events unfold live on stage in Pure Magic: Reality vs. Perception at the Midtown Arts and Theatre Center, with two shows Friday night.
Saturday, March 4
The 30th anniversary event, which includes a 5K run/walk and a 10k run/wheelchair race, supports the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo educational fund and helps kick off a month of rodeo activities.
Political comedian and talk show star Bill Maher brings his stand-up comedy tour to the Smart Financial Center. For more than 20 years Maher has entertained audiences with his political humor on Politically Incorrect and Real Time with Bill Maher.
Controversial singer/songrwiter R. Kelly returns to Houston with a performance at the Arena Theater in support of his 13th album, The Buffet.
Sunday, March 5
This exclusive Saint Arnold beer brunch features a four-course meal paired with five unique Saint Arnold beers. Saint Arnold founder Brock Wagner will be on hand to talk about the beers and pairings.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Green Day come to the Toyota Center on the fourth stop of their North American tour to support their new album, Revolution Radio. They'll be joined by opening act Against Me!
