Horsey set saddles up in River Oaks for swank Pin Oak Charity Horse Show
Rodeo action might be just around the corner, but on its way is an entirely different approach to saddling up that involves sophisticated riding attire, fancy-dress spectators and very pricey steeds. The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show goes into gear at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center on March 19 and the horsey set recently turned out in celebration.
Accomplished horsewoman Jana Arnoldy and husband, Scotty Arnoldy, Triten Corp. chairman and CEO, opened their River Oaks swankienda (we just have to call it that because it is so swank) to Pin Oak supporters, board members and sponsors for an evening of fashion and outdoor frolic. Mother Nature was a sweetheart on this evening that allowed the 100 guests to socialize comfortably around the pool and in the grand open-air pool casita.
Since is founding in 1945, the nationally-respected horse show has raised more than $5.5 million for local non-profits that aid children with medical issues. Horse show board president Lynn Walsh and board member and charity liaison Mary Jones were on the welcome committee.
More than just a cocktail schmooze, this evening had fashion teeth to it. Houston-based designer Jonathan Blake presented designs from his spring/summer collection, light and airy styles deemed just right for evenings at the equestrian center and gowns for special evening occasions. Jana Arnoldy dazzled in one of the designer's evening ensembles in gold lamé chiffon.
Debbie Festari of Festari for Men emceed the fashion presentation that included five businessmen in Festari fashions, including host Scotty Arnoldy.
Franco Valobra was on hand to present his annual contribution to the horse show — the so-called Crown Jewel that will be offered via raffle tickets. This year's donation is a beautiful pearl bracelet accented with peridot and margonite stones, valued at $25,000. Carmina Zamorano of Haras Dos Cavaleiros, Pin Oak week one sponsor, and Katie Lambert Boone of Irish Day Farm, week two title sponsor, both took bows on this evening.
Supporters in the mix included Kate Hobby Gibson, Lindsey Holstead, Courtney Hopson, Janine Iannarelli, Chris and Bill Tresten, Carolyn Farb, Michele and Genaro de Gomez, Kathy and Jeff Love andAlexis and Steven Caruselle.
Ensuring that the throng was very well fed and watered was Elizabeth Stone of Silver Stone Events.
